After participating in SecureIdeas' Professionally Evil CISSP Mentorship course, I was admittedly nervous to even think about taking the CISSP. On May 31st, 2024 (roughly a year and a half later!), I finally pushed off the self doubt and took my first stab at it. When I hit 100 questions and the exam stopped, I was sweating - this meant I either did really well or really bad since it didn't prompt me to answer the remaining 75 questions. A quick walk to the printer... I passed!

I honestly should have gotten this way sooner, but finally decided to go get it this year since I had a long already had some PTO saved up and knew it would be good to add to the bag! Though I admittedly did sweat a little when I sat down and saw those extremely-CompTIA-specific questions...

IBM Qradar Security SOAR (formerly Resilient SOAR) was one of the platforms that was instrumental to the development of my love for SOAR. Optimizing it through python scripts and custom workflows flows was crucial to ensuring our automated SOC responses were accurate, standardized, and timely.

This 2-and-a-half month course was one of the best training, mentorship, and cybersecurity opportunities I've had. It directly connected me with a wealth of knowledge, over 450 CISSP holders and previous attendees of the class collectively in one spot and able to be a resource while we walked through the ISC2 book. The next step will be obtaining my CISSP!

Awarded: May 06, 2021 | Bachelor of Science in Computing, concentration in Information Technology
During highschool I took 3 advanced placement-style courses, staging me to transfer 9 credit hours into my freshman year. In 2017 I was named the DAR Good Citizen and President of the Student Council.
The majority of my collegiate studies focused on programming, ranging from Java, C# apps, to Advanced Web Design (HTML, CSS, MVC, Razor, etc.) and the accompanying data concepts. And amidst general studies, with a concentration in Information Technology, I took a number of courses related to unix, pc setup, sysadmin, and server side programming.
Towards the final year or two, as my course schedule opened itself up to electives, I opted to take a few new-to-me classes such as Ethical Hacking, Psychology, Sociology, and Information Security & Assurance. These specifically are what truly piqued my curiosity in the cyber world and educating people.
